Surgery the first

Aside from a few buttons, this is the very first thing that I've ever sewn. I just re-sized my work t-shirt because I'm leaving soon and it doesn't matter too much if I mess it up. Also, I'm petrified of sewing over my fingers or something using a sewing machine, so I did it all by hand.

It started life as a size 12/13yrs. I'm 18 and it was still a tad too big.

Hemming the bottom would have looked untidy so I left the length as it was and did this at the corners.
I really like the way they turned out.

I also pleated the sleeves slightly because they were too wide.

It's nothing special, but I'm really proud of it.

Not strictly speaking a surgery, but I love it too much not to post it.

OK, so this is what the shirt looked like to start with. This is to be a birthday
present for a friend and since I'm not that good at the sewing yet, I bought this
from a shop at the weekend. The creases you can see are just two templates I'd already
stuck in place before I remembered to take a before photo!

I was really worried that it might look like a 6-year-old child had scribbled all over it, but I'm really proud of how the writing turned out.

The lyrics are from Hey There, Delilah by The Plain White Ts.
