Strawberry Shortcake is teh cute

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post and sparked some ideas for what to do with my too-teeny-for-me tee. I ended up with a relatively simple solution that is probably my most successful surgery to date.

This is an XXL tee from my old job at college, back in the day. I never knew why I saved these shirts I'd never wear again, in all their Skittle-rainbow glory. Now I know: it was so I could use them for t-shirt surgeries. :-)

I started out by adding panels to the sides, then to the tops of the shoulders, effectively giving the shirt a little more girth and a little more length. Then I reshaped the neckline and made a collar, and added a strip of tee to the bottom to finish out the length I needed. And here is the result:



I had contemplated adding on the sleeves and the collar from the other shirt, completing the layered look, but I decided I liked seeing my collarbones instead.

It's not quite as cute as I'd intended, but at least it's wearable, and it fits. Pretty much. And I learned some new tricks, like making a collar. Good stuff.

that is so awesome.. i have that shirt in green,, it hink they make them too short on purpose.. mines a 2x and comes just under my boobs...
